| Course Objective | The Operate Scissor
Lift (MEWP) course enables participants to: - Select the appropriate MEWP and conduct task-specific risk assessments. - Understand safety requirements under the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and relevant Codes of Practice. - Perform pre-start inspections and workplace assessments. - Recognise factors affecting MEWP stability. - Identify common hazards during travel, setup, operation, and parking, and apply effective control measures. - Understand the functions of MEWP controls, including emergency controls and procedures. - Use personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with risk assessments and manufacturer’s guidelines. - Operate scissor lifts safely and in compliance with safety standards. |
| Target Participants | The Operate Scissor Lift course is intended for both new and experienced personnel who are required to operate scissor lifts in the workplace. |
| Entry Requirements | Learners are expected
to: - Possess basic knowledge of the relevant work sector. - Demonstrate English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing at Employability Skills (ES) Level 3 or equivalent. - Be able to work with numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Level 3. - Be medically fit to work at height. - Be at least 18 years of age. |

met assessment requirements will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA)
issued by an accredidated approved training provider. - Validity: 5 years |
